How to Connect Your Facebook Page With Your Shopify Store

Welcome everyone to the BitBranding Blog. In this blog tutorial, we are going to show you how to link your Shopify store to your Facebook page. We will be going in through Shopify to do this.

Setting Up Your Facebook Store Through Shopify

The first thing you need to do is make sure that your Facebook page is set up and also have your shopify store set up. To do this, make sure you are in your shopify store. You’ll want to go to the Sales Channels on the left hand side and click on the plus button.

You will see a lot of different recommendations for sales channels. You can think of sales channels as places where your products will appear.  So the basic one inside of Shopify is going to be the online store. You will also have the ability to do Facebook, Instagram, Amazon and a bunch of other options. For today, we are going to go with Facebook Shop. So you’ll want to click on that plus button.

The first thing that it will prompt you to do is to actually connect your Facebook page. This is one of the easiest processes you can do when you are Connecting Facebook and Shopify. You will click on “Connect Account” and it’s going to open up Facebook.

You will want to continue as yourself. It will give you a list of options of pages that you are an admin on. You will click on your company and then next. You will then want to make sure that you allow to manage your page in order to properly connect.

Then hit done. It should then say that you have linked your Shopify page to Facebook.

The page should direct you back to Shopify and refresh. You will have to click on the page that you want and you can see that you are now connected through your name and business. Next, click on the drop down and go under your company, and connect page.

A pop up will occur which goes over Facebook Terms and Conditions. It is highly recommended that you read over this. Once you are finished, you will go all the way to the bottom and accept the terms.

Once that is done you will see a notice at the very top that says it can take up to 48 hours for your store to be reviewed. After those 48 hours, sometimes even less, you will start to see some of the items on your shop.

Enabling Your Products On Facebook Through Shopify

Something that you will want to take care of right away while you’re waiting for the 48 hours, is to enable your products. So when you initially set up your products, they were all listed under the online store because you didn’t have any other type of sales channel. So what you want to do is go to products on the left hand side.

The quickest and easiest way to add all of your products to Facebook is to click on the Select All Products box, click under actions and make products available.

If you hit that, you’ll automatically check both of them, the online store and Facebook shop. Then you click on “Make Products Available.” Now the products are both available in the online store and Facebook Shop.

When you are creating new products, you will click on “Add New Product” in the upper right hand corner and go through the same process of adding your product. Now, on the right hand side you will see product availability. You will see the online store, which is usually your default one, and then the Facebook shop. So it’s available on 2 of 2 channels and apps.

Making Products Unavailable On Facebook

If there is a certain product that you are not ready for it to go live on Facebook, you can click on manage next to Product availability, and then uncheck the Facebook shop and click done. It will then switch to available on 1 of 2 channels and apps.

Making Collections Unavailable On Facebook

You can do the same with your collections. On the left hand side, you’ll want to click on collections.

Choose the collection(s) you don’t want to show up, then click the drop down arrow next to Actions. You’ll then choose to make collections unavailable. When you hit on that, a pop up will occur. Choose to make unavailable on Facebook shop, so make sure the box is unchecked, and then click on make collections unavailable. Now it should say the collection is unavailable on Online Store.

Now you will want to go back to Facebook shop, refresh the page, and you should see that it’s already being synced up with Facebook. You can see that the product and the collections will show up on your Facebook page.

Products Not Publishing Due To Issues

It might tell you that some or all of your products are Unpublished because there are issues. For example, Facebook requires you to have the name, image and a description for each product in order for it to show up properly on your page. So check that you have everything needed in all of your products and then go back to your Facebook Shop. It might take a little bit to populate.

Checking Facebook For Products

You will want to check on your Facebook page to see if your items have been published. Refresh your page and on the left hand side, click on “See More” and then Shop.

Now under Shop, inside of your page, you have your products ready to go. It might still say Processing, so it might take a little bit of time for it to actually show up properly here. But you’ll see your products. You’ll also see different collections and categories right within Facebook.
